Gingerbread

These past 2 weeks have been full of exciting activities and visitors. Last week we has a special treat in the media center. Mary Musgrove came to speak to us about her importance in establishing Savannah as Georgias first colony. Did you know she help James Oglethorpe and Tomochichi communicate with each other? We also had Mrs. Byrd and Mrs. Caudle come read their story Santa's 911 Meeting to us. What a treat.

This week we have been foscused on gingerbread. We are reading a variety of gingerbread stories and keeping tract of the story elements. We have read about gingerbread babies, pirates, boys, and cowboys so far. We will continue to read more stories nexrt week. We will be ready to enjoy our own gingerbread for our holiday party. Please make sure you send in the party items by Tuesday!

We had some super science experiments too! In the lab we made elephant toothpaste. One elephant's molar weighs 11 pounds! We also predicted and tested what would happen if the gingerbread man got wet! We discovered he would be in a lot of trouble.
