Pizza Fractions

As part of the Common Core Curriculium second grade students are responsible for dividing rectangles and circles into 2,3,or 4 equal parts. What better way to practice this than by cutting and eating our own pizzas?Students worked in cooperative groups to come up with a plan on how to cut their pizza so they would each have a fair share. The they cut and enjoyed. As a follow up activity, they created paper pizzas to show their understanding of halves, thirds, and fourths.

Report Cards

Report cards will be sent home on Monday, January the 14th. please look for them in your child's take home folder. Take time to celebrate your child's gains and progress. They have worked so hard to reach their individual goals. You may keep the copy of the report card ,but please send back the signed notification slip and return it in the envelope (unsealed).
