Science Lab

Today was out first visit to the Science Lab. We reviewed rules and demonstrated how to stay safe in the Lab. We also created STEM Spinners. we had so much fun testing them out and watching them twirl.

Tent for a Bear Challenge

Today the students were asked to create a tent that would protect their bear and that their bear could fit in. Students choose their own groups and their materials. They discussed their plan and design, gathered materials, and built. They shared their tents with the class. The students had so much fun and practiced working together and getting to know each other.

Field Day

Field day was so much fun. Thank you to all of the volunteers and to Coach Golden and Mrs. Durgin for making this possible. Some of our class favorite activities were : bouncy ball relay, sponge toss, shoe toss, tug-of-war ( we didn't win), sponge relay to fill cup, donut toss, races ( we have 3 of the fastest first graders in our class), sack race,  and squirt guns.
