Our First Week of Second Grade

We made it through our first week! Boy did it fly by. We were so busy getting to know each other and developing our rules and routines.

In our class we only have 1 rule. It's the GOLDEN RULE. Students shared what it means to treat others the way you want to be treated. Our list is displayed in the classroom. We have also started to develop our class mission statement. More to come on that.

Learning how to work as a team is super important in second grade. We practiced by creating things out of foil and pipe cleaners and also by seeing how high our groups could raise a hula hoop with just 1 finger from each teammate. Please ask your child how their group worked together.

our class learned a new math game call My Turn, Your Turn. After practicing for a few days, we taught Mrs. Gerber's class how to play. Maybe your child can teach you how to play at home?

Your child's first letter home journal entry came home today. Please take time to write them back and send it in on Monday. If you haven't already, please send in any county forms as well.

I look forward to seeing you on Thursday for Open House!

Time Flies

I can't believe the school year has come to an end. Seems like only yesterday I was meeting the students for the first time! They have all grown so much this year and in so many ways. As leaders, learners, and friends. It has truly been a pleasure teaching your children. Thank you so much for entrusting me with your child's education. Have a happy, healthy, safe, and fun summer. Please stop by and visit next year as you head to third grade!

Market Day

The Boosterthon Fun Run was just that-fun! The kids ran 35 or more laps! They really stuck with it.Thanks for all of your hard work raising money for our Science Lab. On Tuesday we will celebrate our fundraising by having a Pajama,Popsicle, Book, Stuffed Animal, and Game Day!!!!

Market Day was a great success! The students had so much fun selling their goods and spending their profits. We had some amazing items for sale.
