This week we reached our goal of reading to ourselves for 20 minutes! I am so proud of the students and their focus. Since we were able to reach our goal, we moved on to learning a new part of Daily 5- Partner Reading. The students were allowed to choose a partner and sit EEK with them to read. They have really enjoy this. Next week we will learn how to respond to what we have read both independently and with our partner.
We got to visit the Science Lab this week were we reviewed safety rules and put together or eclipse booklet.
In the Learning Commons we got to go in the Star Lab with our 3rd grade buddies!
Thank you for having your child complete their homework and turn it in on time. Have a great weekend!

Thank you so much for attending Open House. It was great to see you and get to talk about your child's day to day activities. Please do not hesitate to email me if you have any questions.

First Week of First Grade
We had a fantastic first week in first grade! The students were
very busy making new friends, learning our rules and routines, playing math
games, developing our community of learners, and making class books after
listening to lots of fun stories.
We will continue to review the rules and routines next week as
well as develop our class mission statement. We get to go explore the Learning
Commons with our 3rd grade book buddies and met our new guidance
counselor.
Open house will be on Thursday, August 10th, at 5:00.
We ask that is at all possible, you leave your children at home. I will be
discussing our curriculum, homework, behavior system, and answering any
questions you may have. I look forward to seeing you then.
Keep signing those GATOR books and sending in all county forms.
Have a great weekend!
